Which homes can you contact in Kwun Tong District?
Search the homes with designated residential respite places for the elderly, with districts, addresses and telephone numbers. This is a contact list; it does not show vacant bed numbers.
Need current vacant places?
Use the Social Welfare Department’s Vacancy Enquiry System for Residential Respite Service / Emergency Placement. A social worker’s referral is required. Call 182 183 for enquiries.
The list identifies homes with designated respite places, not real-time bed numbers. Check vacancies in the SWD vacancy enquiry system ↗. A social worker must make the referral; the referring worker and home confirm places, care needs and admission arrangements.

Kwun Tong District: list coverage
Kwun Tong District covers Kwun Tong, Kowloon Bay, Ngau Tau Kok, Lam Tin, Yau Tong and the Sau Mau Ping area. Homes are included by the SWD list’s district field; this is not a radius search around a particular place. The groups below are a rough Agoodeal grouping by Chinese address text and reflect the list when this page opened.
The following home types describe funding or scheme arrangements. They do not indicate care quality or vacant places.
Residential respite service
Residential respite provides short-term residential care for older people in need, for example while a carer rests, is in hospital, deals with family matters or temporarily cannot provide care at home.
The SWD states that the service is for people aged 60 or above who are physically and mentally suitable for communal living. It is not a shortcut to long-term residential care. Confirm the stay, assessment and documents with the referring social worker or home.
Before applying
Mobility, cognition, nursing and medication needs.
Expected arrival and departure dates, and any flexibility.

Ask about charges, deposits, transport and family arrangements.
Data explained
The SWD open data lists homes with designated residential respite places, but not vacant bed numbers. Treat the results as a contact list. Families and referring workers can use the SWD Vacancy Enquiry System to search by sex, dates and district; confirm the place, care level and admission date with the home.
For an urgent care crisis, ask a medical social worker, Integrated Family Service Centre or District Elderly Community Centre about other support.
How to use
FAQ
You may first ask the home about its facilities, but the SWD requires a social worker’s referral for the formal application.
No. The SWD page lists HK$62 per day for care-and-attention and contract home places, and HK$72 for nursing home places. The service guidelines say no deposit is required.
The service guidelines specify at least 24 hours and no more than six weeks per stay, with up to 42 days in any 12 months. Actual dates depend on places and the individual arrangements.
Emergency placement has separate arrangements and eligibility. Do not rely only on the general residential respite list.
The home list comes from the Social Welfare Department and identifies homes with designated residential respite places for the elderly. It does not include vacant bed numbers. Kwun Tong District includes the Kwun Tong urban area, Lam Tin, Shun Lee and Yau Tong. If a home is in an estate's welfare facilities block, ask where the entrance is when you call.

The list has no vacant bed numbers. This page does not infer or show vacancies. Use the SWD system, then contact the home to confirm places, care needs and admission arrangements.
Results are a contact list. Confirm the stay, fees, assessment and documents with the home or welfare unit. District pages use the SWD district field; place names in addresses are not administrative boundaries.
SWD service-unit list, not real-time vacant beds. Confirm availability and admission arrangements with the home and referring social worker.

Agoodeal reads the SWD Vacancy Enquiry System’s residential respite home file and extracts names, districts, addresses and telephone numbers for keyword, district and home-type filters. It does not rank homes or estimate vacancies. Official English fields come from the same SWD service-unit record. Address grouping is an Agoodeal reading aid based on address text.
